Creative and ambitious or just plain deluded?

So, I used to blog and then I got a proper job. Now I'm out of a job and I'm back to blogging. It's the circle of life, really. I'm not sure whether decorating the whole house and refurbishing certain bits is an ambitious goal to keep me occupied or a deluded fantasy that will only lead to tears, but I propose to document it here and let you decide. See, it's fun already! Mocking is always a good time.

Sitting in my pajamas the night before my last day at work (I know, I lead an incredibly exciting life), it occurred to me that my upcoming project deserved to be documented. I could have gone the scrapbook route, but that's an entire project in and of itself, and periodic email updates to my nearest and dearest didn't seem terribly efficient. Finally, my tired brain hit upon the idea of blogging as I was reading my own favorite online purveyor of witticism, Ginny of That's Church fame. Plus, I get the added joy of random strangers landing here whilst searching for Ty Pennington or Paige Hemmis (hi Extreme Makeover: Home Edition fans - sorry to disappoint).

The plan is that I'll do 'before', 'during', and 'after' photos and posts as I work my way through almost every room in the house. This is decorating on a budget, whilst trying to keep three rambunctious kittens out of wet paint, so you know it's going to be edge of your seat stuff. Heck, I might even throw in some crafts, gardening, baking and general opinions for your reading pleasure!

'Before' photos will be posted from this weekend. In the meantime, feel free to suggest good websites for amateur DIY-ers... I probably need all the help I can get.
